Sponsoring Meetball

At 3D FD, we place significant responsibility upon ourselves to be active and contributing members of the business community we trade within, and also to use our influence and resources to charitably help many others.

One of the ways we try to achieve both is through Meetball football. Within a year of locating from Bath to the South Coast we launched Meetball in September 2013, with the intention of creating a place where like minded peers and colleagues could meet, enjoy playing sport in a friendly environment and hopefully create and build strong relationships.

Much has been researched and reported in recent years on the importance of healthy relationships, and creating opportunities for these to form, which we do on and off the pitch, including catching a drink after the game from time to time.

In May 2017, we completed our fourth season of Meetball, with previous winners including Fireworx & IA Digital (now Greenwood Campbell), 3D FD and Ratio, who successfully defended their 2016 title in 2017. The fifth season starts tonight (7 September 2017), where we play at Pelham's Park in Kinson.

3D FD pays for all the resources (weekly hire of pitches, footballs, bibs etc..), arranges fixtures between teams (thanks Heather!) and asks in return that players or teams donate in to a charity pot. Over the course of the season, this amount builds, and just after Easter we ask the players of all teams if there are charities important to them for us to share the pot with.

To date, as a community we have donated a total of over £3,900 to the following charities: Autism Wessex, Cancer Research UK, Cardiac Risk in the Young, CMV Action, DKMS, Dorset Children's Foundation, Hand in Hand For Syria, Home Start South East Dorset, Joy Cafe Boscombe, Julia's House, Macmillan, Macmillan Caring Locally, Mercy in Action, Oakhaven Hospice Trust, Poole Hospital Charity, Sarcoma UK, SPRING, St James' Place Foundation and Trauma Recovery Centre. All very worthy causes!
